I’m with you Marni. I cannot understand why obscene, foul and filthy language has to be used to make people laugh. What happened to actual comedy, real funny comedy - seems like every second word has to be the ‘F’ word and even so-called female comedians are using it all the time in their ‘comedy’ shows these days. I will never ever pay to go to a ‘comedy’ show if I have seen a television skit or heard that comedian using obscenities as a matter of course. Or should I say ‘coarse’.

Unfortunately, I have a nephew with a kid of just one year who cannot talk, literally, without that word spilling from his mouth in every five or so words. His child is definitely going to grow up also using it as a matter of course without knowing it’s meaning. It will be said in kindy, then pre-school all the way into adulthood because the child heard it every day, all the time. Disgusting. I’m no prude but don’t use it in my own home.

welcome to the new world. You shouldn't buy books either if you don't want bad words because there aren't many these days that don't use THAT word. I know because I read up to 5 books per week. No shows, no sport and stay off the streets or buy ear plugs.

You call that VOCABULARY? My guess is that there are very many that have heard foul language but are decent people who would never use it in company.
Unfortunately, yes, it is.
I agree with your comment, but those with limited vocabulary, where they have to be using foul language all the time to express themselves also seem to not care if they are offending others.
How you talk, how you act, is how you are perceived by others. It is everyone's choice,
some people just don't care, others do.
It's the way of the world these days.

Not my world. I have a large selection of books on my kindle, mostly autobiographies and humour genre. Not a one with foul language. That’s your world and your choice.

I'm with you on this one Marni, because you don't know what's coming you tend to be a bit Traumatized waiting for the continual F....K being said.
The funniest Comedians are the ones that refuse to go down to the low level of
Filth. My Grandson and I went to see a number of Comedians playing their own idea of being funny. There were 3 of them who performed. I personally was
disgusted at the garbage they were
dribbling their profanity. I didn't clap or give them any applause at all
The best known Comedian. Came up onto the Stage. He proceeded to do his act he was so funny, everybody was just about rolling on the floor, doubled over
and laughed and kept on doing his act.
There was no swearing or him building up a story to be suggesting something Rude. No nothing I was so chuffed and happy because he made us laugh at his funny narrative. It was well and Truly ,
funny with a capital F for FUNNY.
