Ford recalls Escape units for possible hazardous defects

We often take the safety of our vehicles for granted, as we trust the engineering and manufacturing processes behind them.

However, when a recall is issued, it reminds us that even trusted brands can experience hiccups that may compromise our safety.

This is the case with one car brand, which recalled some units due to a potential life threat.

Ford Australia issued a recall for 159 Ford Escape units due to a defect that could cause friction and excessive movement in the steering gear.

'Due to a manufacturing defect, over time and under certain conditions, friction and excessive movement in the steering gear could result in a loss of steering control,' the brand stated on their recall notice.

'A loss of steering control could increase the risk of accidents causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.'

The Ford Escape is popular among drivers for its versatility and reliability.

However, this recall is a reminder for vehicle maintenance and safety.

Regular check-ups and staying updated vehicles are essential practices for all drivers.

Ford contacted owners of the 159 recalled units to make an appointment with their preferred dealer.

Dealership mechanics will thoroughly inspect the power steering assembly and, if necessary, replace it at no cost.

This commitment to customer safety and satisfaction is a silver lining in what could be an unsettling situation for many drivers.

Additional information about the recall is available for those who may be concerned about their vehicle.

Customers may call Ford's Customer Relationship Centre at 13 36 73 (13 FORD), where representatives are ready to assist with any questions or concerns.

Last year, Ford Australia also recalled 206 units of Ford Escape due to a possible engine failure and fire hazard.

The automotive company offered free replacement parts to affected vehicle owners.

Reliable transportation is vital to our everyday lives, especially for those who depend on their vehicles for mobility.

We encourage Ford Escape owners to take immediate action if contacted about this recall.

Safety must not be compromised, and we commend Ford Australia for taking the necessary steps to address this issue.
