Flower Girls and Bride​

Look how divine these three girls were! This candid photo from the 1930s captured a bride and her flower girls at Darling Point, Sydney. The bride’s elegant dress and the adorable outfits of the flower girls, full of delicate lace and soft tulle, flow beautifully as they walk and truly make this scene timeless. Plus, the smiles and joy on their faces add a heartwarming touch to this charming moment.

Wednesday evening I was showing a friend a few photos of the Sail Training Ship Leeuwin2 when a picture popped up I had not seen 4 years and couldn't work out how it was in my photo album. My daughter Megan sent it on Whatsapp and the mobile AI automatically put it in my photos. Quite apt for the photo of the bride above, I was the groom at my wedding with the Red Rose of Lancashire as my flower. My insistence in the Red Rose as opposed to a pink one, could have been the start of the long road to divorce, that I did not see coming? Yes I did have hair back when.

I was a bridesmaid 50 years ago and can remember the wedding of my friends well. It was in the height of summer and we wore crepe dresses with floral prints and the flower girls wore the colour of the flowers in our dresses in a solid colour.

The photo would be at St Marks, Darling Point, I would guess, as the dresses look quite expensive.
