Flight cancelled, travellers stuck due to passenger mishap: ‘Couldn’t make this s*** up’
For most of us, holidays are times to relax and unwind, to let go of the stress and concerns of our daily lives and just generally bask in the undeniable joy of being away.
Who wouldn’t love the chance to jump on a plane, fly off someplace nice, get a nice tan, and generally have a great time?
Unfortunately, some things don’t go as planned.
Take, for example, a group of holiday-goers who flew with easyJet. Their return turned out to be far from the expected smooth journey.
An easyJet plane descended into chaos when a passenger allegedly ‘defecated’ on the floor, leading to the cancellation of the flight and leaving others stranded.
On-board footage from the British budget airline reveals toilet paper scattered across the plane's aisle.
Initially set to travel from Tenerife, Spain, to London Gatwick on Sunday night, the flight was cancelled following the incident, as reported by The Sun.
In a video recorded by one of the passengers, the captain can be seen announcing that the flight had to be rescheduled for the following morning.
Passengers were enraged aboard the EZY8054 flight, having endured significant delays on Sunday.
Their frustration escalated when easyJet announced their inability to secure accommodations in the area, leaving many in a frantic search for their lodgings for the night.
Initially, passengers were transferred to a different, smaller aircraft, with the airline offering a £500 (AU$950) voucher to entice them to leave the flight.
With no takers for the offer, they endured additional delays as staff redirected luggage onto alternative flights bound for Gatwick.
The revised plan was for passengers to finally depart and head home at 3 p.m. on Monday.
‘Real good of easyJet to delay the flight 3.5 hours with 0 communication then decide to cancel it altogether because someone took a s*** on the toilet floor,’ one wrote.
‘Quite literally couldn’t make this s*** up.’
‘So we’ve been given the excuse of a toilet being defecated in for the reason for a CANCELLED flight?!’ another complained.

An easyJet spokesperson confirmed that flight EZY8054 from Tenerife to London’s Gatwick Airport faced an overnight delay as the aircraft needed additional cleaning.
‘We did all possible to minimise the impact of the disruption for our customers, providing hotel accommodation and meals, and the flight is due to depart this afternoon.
‘The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority, and while this was outside of our control, we would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.’
Just last month, a plane was forced to make an emergency landing due to a passenger's extreme diarrhoea being deemed a ‘biohazard,’ with a passenger on the flight disclosing that the vanilla disinfectant used to clean up the mess instead worsened the smell.
This eventually led to the affected area’s carpeting being removed.
