Fitness trainer reveals the ONE type of exercise that every woman should do to get a toned body in no time!

Ever dreamt of having a toned, fit physique? One fitness trainer backed with 30 years of experience working with women's bodies revealed the secret to perfectly sculpted muscles – and no, you don’t have to grit through lifting heavy weights in the gym to achieve them!

Vix Eber, also known as Bondi Vixen, began her journey in the fitness industry back in 1991. She became one of the first people in Australia to complete their personal training certificate.

Fast forward to today, she owns and runs The Vixletix Method Studio, which is a boutique strength, HIIT, Pilates, and a yoga-infused group as well as a personal training environment.

They have been gradually growing their client base after disruptions and lockdowns caused by the pandemic.

Considering how every body type is unique and will respond differently depending on the given training regimen, the well-known fitness guru incorporates high repetitions with light weights to prevent her clients from ending up with injuries and heavy loading on the joints.

“It's a much safer approach in my opinion and no matter what your body type this style will lean you out and tone you up without the bulk that tends to come with heavy lifting,” she explained.

One of Vix's signature workout classes called ‘SWEAT’ involves using light weights and cardio drills set to short intervals.

“It's the ultimate fat burning, strengthening, and toning workout. It's an all-inclusive triple threat,” she described.

So, if you’ve been meaning to go on your own weight loss journey, Vix highly suggests working on and maintaining structure as it’s the most essential part of every workout.

She added that being mindful of your caloric intake and comparing it to how much you’re burning during the day is the only way to lose weight effectively.

“Strength training is essential over everything else to stay lean and strong. If you train with weights, you will also tackle your cardio in one hit,” she continued.

“If you don't add a cardio element to your weight training then I always recommend either a soft sand jog or walk. You get more bang for your buck on the soft sand.”

The dedicated personal trainer, who is in her late 40s, teaches a whopping 16 classes each week herself and runs through all of the personal training appointments at her gym.

“I got a job at Healthland Gym in Bondi Junction after finishing school and I've worked for the industry ever since,” she shared.

Back in the early 2000s, she would gather a few of her girlfriends together for 'mums and bubs' classes before taking her training to the beach in the form of boot camps, where she earned the title ‘Bondi Vixen’.

“I had 30 strong women in my groups. We would train rain, hail, or shine. Only five years ago boutique fitness was just starting out and I knew that was the direction I wanted to go in,” she said.

She initially started with a humble pop-up studio that took the community by storm and was instantly bombarded with sign-ups. Eventually, she got her hands on a space in North Bondi, barely a minute's walk from the sand.

While there is plenty of competition near the vicinity, mostly targeted at younger men and women in their 20s, Bondi Vixen was hoping her signature method would appeal to the 35+ age bracket.

“Vixletix Method is based on four pillars that I believe are crucial for a more consistent routine,” she said.

The first pillar, Empower, aims to build lean muscle through strength training, which is a must for bone density and preventing osteoporosis as we age.

“Young ones come in thinking they will bulk up with weights but that is just not the case. In a female-only environment, you will only get the results women require and desire,” she said.

The second pillar is called Sculpt, which is Vix's version of 'progressive' Pilates training, including booty bands, sliders, and interval training in the sessions. This set of exercises gets both the glutes and core working.

Then, she offers the third pillar known as Sweat which is multi-functional cardio and conditioning. Last but not least is Restore, which focuses on taking a breather through meditating exercises and yoga.

The studio also features massage therapists, nutritionists, and dietitians on-site to guarantee that their clients have a balanced approach to their health.

“You don't have to go anywhere else. The best results come from when you're going to the one place, it's safer and more motivating,” Vix said.

“My classes are adapted for all fitness levels and ages. I know that exercise in your 50s is different to exercise in your 20s, but feeling fit and healthy should be lifelong.”

Appealing??? I'm afraid it's depressing for someone who suffers constant pain from hip and back problems and struggles just to do housework! I'm limited to hydrotherapy and the exercises my physio gives me to do at home.

I completely agree with the idea of having a toned and fit physique, and it's great to know that one doesn't have to lift heavy weights in the gym to achieve that. Bondi Vixen seems to be a great example of this. It's really inspiring to know that Vix Eber has been in the fitness industry for 30 years and has created her own boutique studio, offering a variety of strength and conditioning classes. It's even more impressive to hear that her business is still growing despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic. Speaking of personal training, I actually did an online personal trainer course myself last year. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about how to tailor workouts to individual needs and goals. It's amazing how many resources are available online nowadays to help people pursue their passion for fitness.
