Farewell Kate
Farewell to Kate last weekend. Kate is an Eastern Grey Kangaroo which I reared having found her inside her mother who was struck and killed by a vehicle. Kate had very little fur and at the time I didn't really give her much hope of surviving. However, after many months of bottle feeding she was a very healthy and active joey always one hop behind me wherever I went. She spent quite some time hanging from the door know in a pillow slip with a hot water bottle and it was her pouch. She became friends with the dogs, often chasing each other around and sharing their dry food. She loved her bean bag whilst watching TV at night. Exceptionally affectionate and playful.
Kate is now being rehabilitated back with other roos that were also reared by others and will eventually be released after a few months back into one of the local park areas.
She was a great little mate.
