Famous ALDI holiday snack bids bittersweet farewell from the shelves

As the festive season approaches, Aussies are gearing up for the joyous traditions.

Everyone has a much-anticipated Christmas feast to look forward to, as well as the delightful array of desserts that accompany meals.

However, this year, ALDI shoppers are in for a bittersweet surprise as the budget supermarket chain retired one of its cherished festive treats.

The Kringle and Co Salted Caramel Tarts have been a staple in many holiday spreads.

For $6.49 per six-pack, these tarts have garnered a loyal following among dessert lovers for their rich, indulgent flavour at an affordable price.

However, the ready-made dessert will not grace ALDI's shelves this year.

An ALDI spokesperson addressed the change and assured customers that the absence of the Salted Caramel Tarts is part of the store's commitment to innovation and variety.

'ALDI has an irresistible range of Christmas treats and desserts this year that will have Aussies forgetting they're full and going back for seconds,' the spokesperson said.

'We continually look to refresh our festive offerings, bringing back customer favourites and introducing NEW products to surprise and delight shoppers that enjoy a sweet treat or two.'

While the news left some ALDI Salted Caramel Tart fans disheartened, ALDI introduced new Kringle and Co items that could tickle a sweet tooth's taste buds.

'New products which joined the Kringle and Co range this year include the delicious Mini Serve Puddings and scrumptious Meringue Kisses,' the ALDI spokesperson continued.

For those looking for the classic salted caramel taste, ALDI's Mini Puddings Single Serve are available for $2.39.

A bigger portion of the Salted Caramel Pudding is also available for $7.59 for a 500g serving.

For tart enthusiasts, ALDI has the $7.99 Fruit Mince Crumble Tarts six-pack, which includes a decadent Caramel Cocoa Crumble flavour.

ALDI's Christmas range caters to different tastes and preferences, with prices starting from $1.99.

The supermarket chain also has savoury holiday selections.

ALDI is also famous for serving affordable yet delicious Christmas hams, starting at 40 cents per serve.

While shoppers may have to bid farewell to old festive favourites, the spirit of Christmas is all about embracing the new and making merry with what everyone has.
