Fakeaway Recipe for High-Protein Grill'd Burger!
- Replies 1
Whenever we're on the topic of healthy recipes, a burger is usually not on the list.
Oftentimes, the burgers at fast-food restaurants are incredibly energy-dense. Combined with the normal french fries and soft drink ‘meal’, they can easily have over a thousand calories in them (roughly half the recommended daily intake for adults), which instantly sets back any progress we're making with our diets.
So should we say goodbye to burgers forever, then? Not necessarily!
A popular health coach recently shared her recipe for a high-protein burger that you can enjoy once in a while. And the best part is, it's so easy to make at home!
Now all that's left is to practice self-restraint from making this recipe every single day…
According to Brisbane-based coach Bec Hardgrave, her fakeaway recipe of the classic Bird and Brie burger from Grill'd has only 517 calories and is packed with 49 grams of protein.

Here are the ingredients you would need:
And here's how she did it:
First, cook the seasoned chicken based on how you like it. We prefer air frying it to avoid too much oil but you can also fry it in a saucepan!
To prepare your burger, slice a seeded brioche bun in half and add 120 grams of seasoned Italian herb chicken on top. Then add 20 grams of cranberry sauce and flatten it out.
Next, add the shredded lettuce on top, followed by two slices of tomato and the perfectly cooked chicken breast on top of the lettuce.
Place a slice of brie directly on top of the chicken and allow it to melt. Lather the top bun layer with Birch and Waite Seafood Sauce, close it up, and enjoy!
And if you're looking to pair this Grill'd burger with their iconic chips, check out Bec's previous recipe here!
Needless to say, the chips are not only extremely delicious but also so easy to make. Plus, all the ingredients you need are available at your local Coles, Woolies, Aldi, or IGA.
Looks like we're off to the supermarket, folks!
