Fact of the Day: Two Aussies changed the music landscape forever!
It's interesting to hear that a lot of songs back in the day found new life in today’s tunes… and it’s all thanks to an innovation born Down Under!
In 1979, Kim Ryrie and Vogel grew frustrated with analogue synth machines back in the day, which only had a limited number of sounds it can produce.
From there, the two teenagers spent months tinkering with a machine, which could record sounds for a maximum of one second. While too short, it was enough to be used in producing music digitally.
From there, the Fairlight Computer Musical Instrument (Fairlight CMI) was born.
As of writing, Fairlight CMI is still seen as one of the biggest technological innovations of all time.
