Fact of the Day: The first coffee machines in Australia
Australia is famous for its bustling café culture, but when did cafés start popping up?
While Aussies have been enjoying a cuppa for decades, the first espresso machines arrived in Oz in 1952.
Pellegrini's Espresso Bar and Legend Café, which opened in 1954 and 1956, respectively, were said to be Melbourne's first ‘real’ espresso bars.
