And I bet the French never had issues of teens going crazy with their friends & wiping themselves out like our Aussie kids do! They didn't see it as a banned substance. It was just an normal part of life.

Yes really! My son went to stay in Germany on an exchange program in the 90s. He was 17 & turned 18 after he arrived. There were 2 boys in the family he stayed with & they were never banned from drinking. He said they had a totally different attitude towards drinking. And they couldn't believe the stories my son told them about Aussie kids & drinking. They would go out to have a good time & not right themselves off. We had 4 boys & we never let them drink at home before 18 & they use to go to their mates place or out to get drunk! We hear all the stories now! 😅😅

That is an interesting concept Lynnyrose. Like many parents my children were not allowed to drink alcohol before 18, (whether they found ways to do so without my knowledge I don't know), but your thoughts could be correct. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying give children alcohol, but your comment of they see it as a normal part of life and not doing stupid things that happen here in Australia could have a point.

Yes they usually water the alcohol down from what I believe or was told. It wasn't straight alcohol.

Do you have proof or statistics to support your comment?
I don't make statements without the back up of verifiable evidence. You will learn that.

For France in 2009, deaths caused by disease was 535366, of which 49048 were attributed to alcohol consumption. That's almost 9.2%! This figure does not take into account deaths attributed indirectly by alcohol, such as motor vehicle incidents and acts of violence.
