I think the most thoughtful of the gifts on the list was the name a star. My late dad bought one for my late mum many years ago. I also agree about asking guests to give a donation to their favourite charity.

I am not a fan of Sandilands at all but if he wished to spend that sort of money on his wedding and he has it, why not. As for the gifts, well if he was fair dinkum he would have requested guests to make donations to charities instead of bringing gifts, just imagine what a difference those dollar amounts could have made to medical research or the children's hospital or the like.

Totally agree with you, would have been so much appreciated if guests made a donation to charity instead of expensive gifts which weren’t required by the couple anyway. But I’m guessing if that had been requested a much smaller amount would have been donated by the guests than what they spent on gifts, after all they wouldn’t have got publicity for that. How is it that our ? Esteemed leaders??? Could gift a star renamed after their kid, just who do they think they are to do that.
