EXCLUSIVE: Queen Elizabeth II was reported to return to Windsor Castle to perform ‘light duties’
Queen Elizabeth II was reported to have officially returned to Windsor Castle following her stay in Sandringham for a few nights to rest.

The monarch was photographed returning to Windsor Castle, where she is expected to perform 'light duties' for a fortnight as per doctors' advice, last Tuesday.

It was also reported that Her Majesty will be missing at Saturday's annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

However, Buckingham Palace said that it is the Queen's 'firm intention' to lead the royal family’s tributes at Sunday’s Remembrance commemorations at the Cenotaph in London.

The 95-year-old monarch's diary will be 'carefully examined' and under 'constant review' into 2022 after doctors advised her to take a rest.

Insiders said that Palace officials were instructed to take a 'careful and cautious approach when planning the Queen's commitments — assessing how she's feeling and whether she would need to travel or not before committing to an engagement.

Last month, it was revealed that Her Majesty spent a night at King Edward VII Hospital in London. The Queen was said to be hospitalised "as a precaution", assessing her for symptoms of gastroenteritis. The monarch was said to be in "good spirits" when she was discharged the following day.

I think it's sad that she still has duties at her age. She should be enjoying the last few moments of her life. That is sadly the life of a monarch.
