The show was originally hosted by actors Kimberley Joseph and Aaron Pedersen, the latter of whom was replaced by radio host Mike Hammond following the first series.

This time, the show’s hosting gig will be filled by an iconic duo—retired NRL player Beau Ryan and netball great Liz Ellis.

The format of the show involved resident competitors—called the ‘Gladiators’—pitted against one-off Contenders who battled it out in gruelling events in front of an arena audience. The revived series will follow a similar format, and will include newly-created events and fan favourites such as Hang Tough, The Wall, Power Ball, Pyramid, Duel, and The Eliminator.

Filming will start next month in Sydney and will be produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production.

Liz Ellis is 'super pumped' about the opportunity. She said: 'It’s an iconic franchise, and I’m excited about the reboot. It is set to showcase some of my favourite Gladiator challenges from the original series as well as throw up a few new ones for us to fall in love with.'

Meanwhile, Ryan Beau said he grew up watching Gladiators and feels honoured to co-host the reboot.

'I am beyond excited to be hosting Gladiators alongside the great Liz Ellis. Liz is a national treasure, and we are going to have a lot of fun. I grew up watching and loving Gladiators and can’t wait to get into it. It’s going to be spectacular,' Beau said.

In other news, is everyone ready to go back to Ramsay Street?

Neighbours, one of Australia's most iconic drama series, is set to air on Monday, September 18th, on both Amazon Freevee and Network 10.

Last year, the TV show, which had been on the air for an impressive 37 years had to cease production when its production company could not find a new network.
However, Amazon Freevee and Prime Video stepped in just a few months after the star-studded finale aired and saved the show.

They started production in Melbourne earlier this year and it looks as if fans will be in for a real treat when the series airs in a few days.

Bring them all back, I will NOT be watching any off them... Reality shows Bah-humbug

Thank goodness I can afford a couple of subscription services. My son gifted us Foxtel. Otherwise I think I’d discard our televisions. Wouldn’t it be nice if they could create something original? Watched a little of ABCs remake of Mother and Son, terrible! Used to love the original with Ruth Cracknell & Gary McDonald.

Who cares!!! I don't watch much TV at all. A bit of ABC and SBS is about all. Especially when sport replaces normal shows regardless of viewing time.

foxtel, I'd suggest it's the least value for money subscription option. More rubbish that I was on free to air TV that I didn't watch then, but now pay a subscription to watch. Netflix or Stan are the best option if you're in the position to pay.

What do you mean by tv license???? Weird!!!!!
Absolutely no relevance to the story, was something that went out with button up boots in the early 70's, was primarily to fund the ABC. Technically it still exists, the commercial networks pay a licence fee each year.

Can’t totally agree with you AlanQ. My husband & I watch a lot of documentaries & nature shows on Foxtel as well as movies. I especially love old movies. I’m also a cricket nut so always enjoy that. There is a bit of rubbish but we simply don’t watch it. My brother & husband watch a bit of football so we’re all happy. Also have Prime & Apple TV plus.

Years ago we were forced to have a license, they would drive around in a van trying to catch people that never had one that was in the late 60 dearly 70 if I Rembrandt. You would be fined if caught.

Licenses went out in the 50's, we have an Amazon Fire stick and watch all the off chute stations lots of really good programs on SBS ON DEMAND, and 7+, $79 and you are set to get rid of the garbage they are showing.

Licenses were still in in the sixties when we lived in Rockhampton.
