Not sure what others do, but I resize the photo to 40% (low) quality pixel size on my PC.

eg. I reduce a photo from 1.2MB resized to 522.5KB and it's okay to load. Does this help?

To be honest, I'm not sure what the exact limit is, but one thing I noticed is uploads in excess of 1MB usually are too large already :O There are many resizing services online like this one that I use: https://imageresizer.com/

I use my phone as I take alot of pictures using my phone.
Sometimes I need to screen shot the photo before it let's me upload.

Wished we could also add videos
