At the Seniors Discount Club, we're always excited to stumble upon delightful surprises in life. So you can imagine our joy when we heard about an extraordinary discovery made by a shopper in Victoria. This lucky woman found a perfectly round egg at her local Woolworths store!

Discovering a perfectly round egg is not an everyday occurrence, and we can only imagine the shopper's excitement. Although we don't know her name, she was eager to share her find with Melbourne's 3AW broadcaster, Jacqui Felgate.

A post from one of Jacqui's followers caught her attention: ‘This is so random, but I thought I would share this eggcellent find.’ The post included a photo of the perfectly spherical egg resting comfortably in a regular carton without a single crack or blemish.

Naturally, one might find it hard to believe that a round egg exists since we're used to oval-shaped eggs.

However, a quick Google search revealed that the statistics support its rarity, with the odds of finding a round egg being one in a billion.

Surprisingly, these rare eggs have even been known to fetch a handsome price in the market!

As Felgate revealed, 'Literally one-in-a-billion eggs are round and the last one that was found sold for over $1400!' Our jaws dropped at the thought.

The social media post displaying the eggstraordinary find garnered responses from users, some sympathetic towards the 'poor chook' that had to lay it, while others couldn't resist the opportunity to throw in a delightful egg pun.

'Firstly, wow! Secondly, that lady either has small hands or that egg is MASSIVE.' one user wrote, as another presented the pun: 'Yolkidding me!'

In the midst of all this eggcitement, others shared their past experiences with round eggs, while someone even suggested this lucky shopper try her luck further by purchasing a lottery ticket!

The potential price tag on a round egg sent many users into bewilderment. Some asked, 'What do they do with it?' and proposed that the discoverer either sell or frame the egg.
