Duchess Camilla attends Oldie of the Year Awards ceremony - an award the Queen graciously turned down because she believes ‘you’re only as old as you feel’
Age is just a number, according to 95-year old Queen Elizabeth II who graciously turned down an award she believed she could not accept as she 'didn't believe she met the relevant criteria’.
Shortly after the news of her majesty declining the award, her daughter-in-law, Camilla, arrived at the Oldie of the Year Award ceremony in London on Tuesday afternoon.
Wearing a stylish navy dress paired with black tights and pumps, the 74-year old Duchess of Cornwall presented the awards to this year’s winners.

However, the Queen declined the invitation in a letter penned by her private secretary Tom Laing-Baker to which he wrote: ‘Her Majesty believes you are as old as you feel, as such The Queen does not believe she meets the relevant criteria to be able to accept and hopes you will find a more worthy recipient.'
The letter is published in Oldie Magazine’s November issue.
