The letters don't stand for the time of day. They describe the mode of transmission.

R is for Really, are you sure you want to go that way?
N is for Nah, I don't think we are going anywhere.
D is for Directly going where you want.
P is for Probably going nowhere.

Once you get that sorted, driving is much more predictable.
