Dripping container

Does this classic dripping container bring back fond memories? It’s a treasured part of many Aussie kitchens, often bringing to mind the delicious aroma of a roast cooked over a wood stove. Some even spread the dripping on bread, drizzle it over veggies, or use it to make a savoury rich gravy.

Yes, I remember we had a dripping container which was always kept in the fridge. Instead of a lid we had some aluminium foil over the top.
I remember looking into it when the new oil was added, to see that it was solid underneath and liquid on top with bits of burnt charcoaled meat floating around. What a sight!

I still have a dripping container, don’t use dripping anymore but use it for my cooking oil I use for baked dinners. When we were kids we ate dripping on bread and everything was cooked in dripping, roast vegies, meats, chips etc. we always saved the fat that came off any meats we cooked and added it to the dripping container as well. All foods cooked in the pan were cooked in dripping back then.

I used to love it on bread. Dripping sandwiches. I.made and still do make gravy. Makes a delicious gravy, better than gravox or those things. Home made gravy, the best😘😋😋😋😋
Used to get a bowl, cut a thick doorstep butter it place it the bowl and pour gravy over it let soak and thne ho into it, beats Chateaubriand every time? one of the reasons my instructors used to tell me i was too ambivalent. I must admit you would try but could never the lose the feeing you were casting pearls before swine?
