DONT USE JETSTAR

This must be the worst airline in the world. Have just tried to get a refund for an airfare that they just simply refuse to do saying it was non-refundable fare. Nowhere on the booking form nor on the actual ticket is this staed. it is only if you open a seperate page that the statement is made. I believe this is misleading and unconscionable behaviour and they ought NOT to allowed to do this. My advice don't use JETSTAR ever

I have heard so many bad things about Jetstar since they came into the aviation space. I wouldn't and don't even look at this company when I book a flight. Here are just 2 stories. Our friends were flying up from Tasmania and Jetstar was just flying out of Launceston. They decided to give them a go. Flight was scheduled to leave at 4pm, it was delayed 7 times and they left Launceston just after 11pm. The hotel they had booked was closed for the night when they finally made it up to Brisbane, so they had to find other accomodation at 2.30 in the morning. The next time was a few diggers getting ready to go to Adelaide from Hobart for a reunion. They just cancelled the flight with no explanation. No refunds. No oops sorry, nothing.

Not sticking up for Jetstar, because they are not the greatest but they do have different levels of fares on their flights, at varying prices.
Obviously you would have to wonder why. The cheapest flight has a no refund policy and only hand luggage. This was obviously the flight you purchased unfortunately.
All this information is on their Website. Next time purchase the Plus fare and you will be able to cancel or change flights without difficulty.
Jetstar are not the only ones that do this. Many airlines do not do refunds if you have chosen the cheaper fare, that is the risk you take.
It was unfortunate that you weren't aware of this. Same thing happened to me a few years ago with Virgin. I was told I should have done my due diligence🤷
Live and learn I guess . An expensive lesson.

Every Air line has the same policy.
This issue has been brought to light by ‘Choice’.
The current government have been trying to legislate against such practice since after to Covid Pandemic.
We the public need to keep pushing this despicable behaviour.
I too , being a victim.

Used Telstra now for 30 odd years and never had a problem!
We’ve never had a problem with Telstra either apart from when a lazy linesman took our telephone line for someone else. Unfortunately for him it was an official Telstra phone & my husband was on call (Telstra broadcast tech) so he was back in a hurry to make it right. We’re no longer with Telstra but we got really good service from them.
