DODGY CENTERLINK EMAIL

I have something I need to warn members about.
There is an email ..received mine this morning...which PURPORTS....to be from Centerlink regarding pensions etc.
PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE LINK...this is a scam and if you notice the email address is wix or wex.
I am lucky I went into my own computer and checked my own Mygov account and there was no messages from any of my linked services.
I have reported this as spam and deleted forever, but feel it is necessary to warn others.

Please warn everyone to delete the email.
Your loyal reader Di Murray

Seeing I dont get any money from Centrlink wascpretty sure was a scam ( mine a txt rather than email) and alsp went to myGov account and of course no message, think has been said many times in last few years " dont click on link, go to myGov directly!!!
Cheer and Happy New Year all and keep safe!!!

I used to be a proofreader until my eyes gave up due to macular degeneration. Had the operation, which did not take.
Bugger! Anyway, Centerlink is not too hard to spot.
I think Southmelbswans above could benefit from a proofie's services.

Please be aware of scams and do be careful when checking emails and DO NOT click on anything that you think does not look right. I was caught out for the very first time about 6 months ago. I use Spotify and had recently received a new NAB card in the mail. I thought the email was asking for my new card details. I was half asleep at the time, so clicked on the link. I thought it was odd, I didn't received a confirmation email. A couple of days later I was checking my back details online. I came across a couple of odd transactions. The amounts were only small, so did not take alot of notice. Early the next morning something told me I should check again and found $800 taken out. I immediately contacted NAB bank who acted very promptly. The fraud team were able to retrieve my money and the funds were back in my account. What I thought was a Spotify link asking for details was in fact a scammer!
Scammers are out there all the time, so be warned people!!!!

So pleased you could recover money so quickly. Scammers are becoming so intrusive and clever.

All I can say is more fool you.
How many times do people have to be warned that banks or Government authorities will not ask for personal details via email?
There is no excuse whatsoever and “half asleep” is certainly not an excuse.
At least you are not blaming the bank for your stupidity!

Everyone makes mistakes!

My rule is never click on a link and always go the the official site no matter how official the message looks.
I have received this scam email from someone pretending to be PayPal. I have never had an account with
PayPal Services and it is definitely a scam. I know a lot of people have accounts with this company so please be warned! On looking to see who it was actually from the name [email protected] come to light. If this had really been from PayPal they would have surely not allowed the purchase to go through if they already knew it was "without authorisation" as they quoted.

I check my bank several times a day, one morning I noticed an amount taken out that I didn't authorise, image below. First thing I did was go to Paypal but there was no such transaction made through them, but just to be on the safe side I removed my bank account details that they had on file.
Next I contacted my bank who cancelled my card straight away and organised a new one, which took ages to get here because of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
I don't get how it can say it's from Paypal yet no transaction showed up. Anyway the upshot is I just received my refund from the bank last week.
