Do you think Australia should become a Republic?

Just wondering what people's opinions are on this... Personally I think Queen Elizabeth is an institution and it somehow wouldn't feel right becoming a republic while she is still the reigning monarch... But one she steps down or passes away, I would have to think pretty hard about whether or not Australia should 'go its own way'.

I'm not a royalist in any sense of the word, but, I do belong to the "If it ain't broke don't fix it school" of thought,
The thinking in the UK appears to be a scaled down monarchy when Charles? takes over so a rethink may be required then.
A republic sounds great, but what killed the last try was the model... None of those suggested seemed to work.
The expenses of going Republic would also be huge, The powers of the President also need careful thought, if as suggested,
much the same as the Governor General then why bother.. VT
