Do you have any special Easter traditions?

G'day, members! Easter is almost here, and for many of us, that means celebrating in our own unique ways—whether it’s gathering with family, enjoying a big feast, or indulging in one too many chocolate eggs (no judgment! 😉).

Do you have any special Easter traditions? Maybe you have a long-standing family tradition, like baking hot cross buns, hosting an Easter egg hunt for the grandkids, or attending a sunrise service. Or perhaps you’ve started a new one in recent years!

We’d love to hear about the special ways you celebrate Easter—big or small! Share them in the comments below!

ME
AND MY WIFE HAVE 6 CHILDREN. WE HAVE A FAMILY TRADITION WHERE EVERY EASTER SINCE 2005 ON THE GOOD FRIDAY ALL OF US GET TOGETHER WITH OUR FRIENDS, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN AND NOW GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND GO TO ONE OF OUR CLOSE DAMS AND BBQ OUR FISH AND WHITE MEAT AND WE ALL TAKE DIFFERENT SALAD ITEMS FOR LUNCH AND GENERALLY PLAY GAMES AND HAVE FUN. THE ONLY TIME WE STOPPED WAS WHEN COVID STOPPED US FROM LEAVING OUR HOMES AND MEETING UP.

I am 92 & have gained a good bit of experience over the years. I have seen the Easter weekend slowly slip from its meaning. The holidays are so that we may celebrate the death & resurrection of Jesus Christ. Why do we have hot cross buns, meant for Good Friday, on Boxing Day. Take the cross off, it’s only flour & water & doesn’t affect the taste. Why is there so much emphasis on the Easter Bunny? Easter Eggs were meant to represent new life with the Resurrection of Jesus. All the Christian meaning has been destroyed. What do non-believers celebrate? Perhaps they should not take the holidays. Try interfering with Non-Christian celebrations!
