Leni wrote: "I saw this great idea posted yesterday and had to try it myself."
The mum shared that she only used $4 Fabric Glue from Kmart and a piece of cotton fabric from Spotlight to decorate the $10 Ceramic Base Table Lamp which she purchased from Kmart.
Prices for Spotlight's cotton fabrics start at $5, with many patterns to choose from.
The mum wrote: "I used $4 fabric glue from Kmart to stick the new material over the old material and it seems to have stuck on really well."
Leni advised that while the DIY project is really easy to make, you should have a sharp pair of scissors for cutting the cloth.
"I looked everywhere in Spotlight for a nice sea animal print and didn't like anything I saw, then found this in the clearance section. I like it but am still on the hunt for the perfect one. This lamp is for my daughter's room but I might do one for my bed or lounge room in the material of my choice," she added.
