DIY expert shares how she made plaster art in a weekend: "A lot easier than you'd think"

In a post on her Instagram page, Sydney-based artist Erin recently revealed how to create a modern work of art using only supplies purchased from retail establishments.
By combining a print purchased from Kmart for $17 and a multi-purpose filler purchased from Bunnings for $6.50, Erin said she was able to make a personalised piece of plaster art for her home.
"It's a fun weekend project that's a lot easier than you'd think," she said. "All you need are a few supplies to get you started and a bit of creativity."

First, take the painting out of the plastic covering it was originally stored in, and tape the four corners of the frame. This is to ensure that none of the supplies you'll be using will affect the frame.
Now that the sides have been completely covered, you can move on to the next step, which is to fill the frame with plaster. "You can be messy here, texture is good," said Erin as she roughly applies the filler onto the glass of the frame with a scraping tool.
After that, you ought to have textured plaster covering the entire canvas. You are free to begin the design process at this point.
