Disneyland for Adults: Sneak peek inside Harris Farm’s new extravagant supermarket in Australia
- Replies 9
If there’s a Disneyland for shoppers, it has to be this new lavish store rolled out by Harris Farm in Australia. With features unlike any other, prepare to be utterly blown away by this unique twist to grocery shopping.
The Lane Cove outlet is a one-of-a-kind ‘upmarket grocery shop’ in Sydney. Instead of regular, limbo-like aisles typically seen in standard supermarkets, its layout features categorised sections with whimsical names such as Fairyland, Bakers Cottage, Dessert Cove, Flower Patch, The Juicery, and Wholesome Harvest.
Shoppers are presented with a vast array of produce, a gourmet deli, hot food offerings, a popcorn cart, a huge doughnut display, milk on tap and a ‘pour-your-own’ station for juice, honey, coffee and other household staples.
But the magic doesn’t end there, the store also boasts an in-house butcher and fishmonger, a Messina parlour, a build-a-cookie-pie station, and 500 cheese varieties from around the world. It’s certainly nothing like a normal supermarket.

Even though the store has only been running for a month, hundreds have already dubbed it the ‘best supermarket in Australia’.
“It was so beautiful it almost made me cry, there was a whole wall of chocolate and ice cream!’ one customer gushed.
‘It was quite overwhelming at first because there was a lot to take in but it was amazing. It was quite a spectacle... I haven’t seen anything like it!’ another shopper described.
She added that the ‘cool’ features of the store reminded her of a theme park.
‘The map, signs, structure, energy, and music reminded me of Disneyland. The store has a lively, carnivalesque atmosphere.’ she explained.

‘The layout had the same flow as a theme park. You had to wait for your turn to get to a different section, just like waiting to go on a ride. Everyone was having the best time, the kids were having a lot of fun with the popcorn cart.’
‘It’s definitely a place where people can hang out. I spent 40 minutes in there, it was so cool.’
After word about the store circulated, a third shopper had to experience the wonder for himself. Fortunately, he was kind enough to give others a glimpse of the elevated supermarket too! Well-known foodie Adrian Widjonarko showcased the store’s features in a TikTok video.
‘This has got to be the largest Harris Farm I’ve ever been to,’ he can be heard saying in the clip.
‘There are so many things to discover. It has a whole Messina section, a popcorn and honey station, there’s a pizza area as well as sushi and sashimi.’
‘There are a lot of samples throughout the shop and the bakery has quite the variety of cakes! There’s also a milk tap and custom cookies.’

A fourth shared: ‘What a fantastic store. Each type of food has its own custom-designed area – you can pour milk from a tap and there are massive pasta shelves.’
‘My favourite was the bakery goods area where you pull a rope and an artisan baguette drops down in a funny contraption.’
One more declared: ‘Wow, talk about a very special grocery store! Now, THIS is an upmarket grocery shop! The way this store is set up takes you through a culinary journey and snakes all the way around until you come to a halt to their Messina and Rebel Donut counters right before the checkouts.’
What are your thoughts about Harris Farm’s latest store? Will you be dropping by Sydney to see it for yourself? Should other supermarkets follow in their footsteps? Let us know in the comments!
