Disgusting footage reveals infestation at popular home diner—see footage before your next visit!

Dining out is one of life's simple pleasures, especially for those of us who have seen many a moon and prefer to occasionally leave the cooking to the younger generation.

However, a recent video has served as a reminder that not all eateries meet our expected standards, particularly regarding cleanliness and hygiene.

The footage left many diners questioning the practices of certain restaurants. It highlighted the importance of ensuring that the places we trust to prepare our meals uphold high standards of sanitation and care.

In a disturbing revelation, a popular late-night eatery, Indian Home Diner on Oxford Street in Paddington, Sydney, has become the centre of attention for all the wrong reasons.

A social media user captured and shared footage that has since gone popular, showing at least half a dozen rats freely scurrying around the diner's kitchen.

The video, which has amassed over 720,000 views, offered a glimpse into the closed front of the diner before zooming into the lit back room where the rodents were seen exploring their surroundings.

The sight of several rats milling about on the floor, with one attempting to scale a white bucket and another walking along the edge of a green bin, has left viewers feeling queasy and vowing to steer clear of the establishment.

The clip has sparked a mix of reactions, from humour to horror, with comments ranging from references to the animated film Ratatouille to jokes about 'butter rat' and 'vindaloo rat' dishes.

Yet, for some, the reality hit too close to home, with one user admitting to having dined there just the night before.

The incident has reignited the conversation about Sydney's ongoing rat problem, which pest controllers have described as the 'worst in 20 years.'

Some social media users have pointed out that Sydney's infrastructure, built on sewerage tunnels, means that many restaurants may have rodent issues.

While alarming, this claim reminds us of city eateries' challenges in maintaining pest-free environments.

Indian Home Diner, known for its late-night offerings and previously praised for its food with a 4.3-star rating on Google, was closed when attempts were made to reach them for comment.

The diner had previously faced restrictions on its trading hours due to noise concerns, with Woollahra Council initially banning trade until 3 am on weekends.

This decision was later reversed, with the diner arguing that the restriction would 'cripple' the restaurant.

The NSW Food Authority, part of the Department of Primary Industries, has been contacted regarding the incident.

While many establishments work diligently to maintain a clean and safe environment, this video reminds us to be vigilant and expect transparency from our favourite dining spots.

For our readers, especially those who frequent late-night eateries, we encourage you to stay informed and to report any health and safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.

It's also worth noting that establishments must adhere to strict health codes, and incidents like this should be addressed promptly to ensure public safety.

In other news, a woman from Yorkshire, UK, was shocked to find a rat in her toilet and needed professional help to remove it.

Kieran Sampler, a rat catcher with extensive experience, found the situation unusual, as it was his first time removing a rat from such a location. You can read more about it here.

Well IMHO that is the responsibility of the Local Council to make sure that these premises are kept clean and safe for people frequenting them.
Unfortunately though all what many Councils care for (If not the greater majority of them) is how to make more money and increasing taxes with little in return.
Back home where I came from my parents owned 3 large bakeries and the local Council health inspectors of all premised handling food including restaurants of course and, totally unexpected and without warnings, those inspectors were coming in and look around at your premises including the toilets and facilities and took sample of the food sold or used in the store.
I witnessed during an inspection where the inspectors took 3 lot of samples from the bread baskets and sealing them with a lead seal clipped around the bag where you could not open it, and took the other two bags away with them for testing. The reason one of the sample was left with you was that you had something in your possession in case you wanted to appeal the verdict in case that the inspectors tried to pull a swifty on you.
It took about 2 weeks to get the results back which were all clear.
The Law at the time was that if anything was found to be wrong you get a huge fine for the first time, if found wrong again you get a fine that practically could force you to close, and the third time you was going to be shut down and the doors locked up. That would have been enough to make sure that you follow the laws in keeping your premises healthy and safely clean for your customers.
Unfortunately though that is not the case here.

I hope this pig trough of an "eatery" immediately loses any licence to conduct a restaurant, closed down and sent back to drinking water from the River Ganges.

Who gives a shit if five Indian nationals lose their jobs and savings?
Still can't work out what the Council's health inspectors are doing. This place should be made to do what it was supposed to do and being clean and safe to eat or force it shut.

shouldn’t need to be a third time , these people are grubs ,most Asian places are the same .

I can't afford to eat out at diners or get take-aways any more but this would certainly have stopped me from ever going out for a meal or snack again. We mostly have problems with snakes
