Natasha faced a seemingly common issue: her dishwasher looked severely scuffed from years of use. Her husband wanted to purchase a new one, but she insisted it worked fine and looked ‘worn’.
Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a new dishwasher, Natasha found an easier, much cheaper solution–-mixing olive oil with an all-purpose cleaner called Bar Keeper’s Friend.
If you’re unfamiliar with it, Bar Keeper’s Friend is touted as a ‘miracle product’ perfect for all kinds of cleaning jobs around the house—from removing soap scum from your shower to removing rust from your kitchen sink.
Thankfully, it’s available at Woolworths, Coles, and Bunnings and only costs about $8.
Natasha applied the oil and cleaning agent mix on a microfibre cloth to rub away the stains in the worn parts of her dishwasher. She didn’t specify the exact measurements.
In no time, her old dishwasher looked sparklingly new again, and Natasha couldn’t be more pleased with the amazing results!
She shared the transformation on social media.
‘I just can't believe the difference. I'm a little embarrassed I didn't do this sooner! She's still worn but sparkly,’ Natasha wrote.
It didn’t take long before her post started going viral, with social media users commenting on the incredible job she did with such an inexpensive product.
‘This looks amazing,’ one said, adding that it ‘looks brand new’.
‘I use baby oil on my silver appliances. They come up beautifully. Well done on the dishwasher!’ someone commented.
