Discover the surprisingly affordable $7 'best meal ever' from ALDI

With the skyrocketing prices of groceries, finding budget-friendly recipes that don't sacrifice flavour can feel nearly impossible.

However, one creative home cook has proven it can be done by putting together what she calls the 'best meal she has ever had' for just $7 using three items from ALDI.

The savvy mum from Perth bought a bag of Chinese cabbage and pork dumplings, beef pho soup, and some fresh bok choy for only $12.57 total.

But because she only used a quarter of the dumplings, the grand total came out to right around $7.

The best part? She was able to feed her whole family with it!

The ingredients the mum-of-two used were Smile Food's Chinese cabbage and pork dumplings that retail for $7.99, The Soup Co’s beef pho broth for just $3.29, and some fresh bok choy for $1.29 to round it out.

To prepare this simple yet satisfying dinner, she boiled the dumplings in one pot with the pho soup and blanched the bok choy to add some greens.

Then she combined them all together, topped it with some chilli oil she had on hand, and garnished it with fresh cilantro.

The mum said that the pho alone was more than enough for one person, but the serving could be stretched further by adding beef stock to the mix.

She also recommended using 'a touch of salt' for those who do not want to use chilli oil.

Many shoppers raved over the recipe in the comments, with some saying they were excited to try it out for themselves.

'That looks so [yummy],' one replied.

While another said: 'Adding that to the list of meals this week!'

Other shoppers were concerned about the dish being too spicy for their families, but the mum said that the dish was not as spicy.

The pho and dumplings seemed to be particularly popular purchases, as others who have purchased them shared: 'The Beef Pho Soup is absolutely amazing!'

While another added: 'We had the same tonight, those dumplings are so so good.'

Another home cook shared how others could adjust the ALDI soup and dumplings.

'To the soup, I add Bok Choy or spinach leaves and a handful of seafood marinara mix (frozen from ALDI) and a dash of soy sauce, stretching it a little further for two,' they explained.

'I boiled the marinara separately and added that water to the soup as well.'

'You can tweak it with any sauces/spices you like. We love it, turns it into a meal.'

Well guess what we're having for Thursday's dinner 🍽 😋 thanks

I Love the Sundried Tomatoes in oil in a glass jar & the Capsicum also in oil in a glass jar. Adds so much extra flavour to meat & vegie meals served with pasta a little soy sauce really yummy sauces & so cheap. Can’t beat it in my opinion. Just think the jars of Tomatoes & Capsicum in the oil in sealed glass jars add so much more flavour & colour to your sauces. Try it you’d like it I’m sure. You can get around 4 separate meals from each jar making it a Very Cheap & Tasty Meal.
