I had a room off my kitchen that had two entrances one door going from the kitchen and one door going from the hallway the same as my bedrooms.

We were using this as a 3rd longeroom and sometimes a formal dinning room.
One of my daughters really wanted her own room so we closed the doorway going into the kitchen with Masonite we then added a huge built-in cupboard going right across the wall and over the door way.
That then turned it into a bedroom with one door.
Then on the kitchen side we added shelves in the door way to give extra storage instead of adding a wall.

I ve got a Tasmanian oak kitchen and in the next couple of months I will be renovating it. I'm keeping the cupboards as they are in pristine condition, but I will paint them white, get ride of the island bench and at a breakfast bench which will divide kitchen to dining room. I will then add matching doors to the shelves we made
