Discover the 2-hour cleaning method that can miraculously transform your home

Whether it's the pile of dishes in the sink, the dust bunnies lurking under the bed, or the cluttered living room, maintaining a clean home can often feel like a daunting task.

But what if we told you there's a secret to making this chore less overwhelming and more efficient?

Behold the 2-hour cleaning method—a strategy taking the internet by storm, thanks to social media user Jess.

Jess, who has become a sensation on social media for her practical cleaning tips, has revealed what she calls the 'easiest way to keep your home or apartment clean'.

The secret? Treating your cleaning task as a professional job with a strict two-hour deadline.

The concept is simple yet effective: just set a timer for two hours and imagine you've been hired as a professional cleaner.

This mindset, Jess explained, helps boost your focus and allows you to prioritise tasks efficiently.

'Basically, the stress of the whole situation will make you clean quicker than you ever would have otherwise,' she says.

Jess has been using this method for about a year now and swears by its effectiveness.

'Believe me, I've been doing this for about a year now, and my apartment has never been cleaner because I don't give myself that much time for each room, and I have to finish within two hours,' she said.

But the 2-hour cleaning method isn't just about working against the clock. It also involves a reward system.

'I pay myself with a $10 latte, and I'm actually saving money because that's cheaper than a cleaning service,' she explained.

'I'm technically saving money, so why not treat myself?'

The 2-hour cleaning method has been met with enthusiasm from viewers, with many sharing their success stories in the comments.

'Girl-mathing my way to a clean house. I love it,' one viewer wrote.

While another shared, 'I just cleaned my whole apartment after watching this.'

One viewer even tried the technique and updated in the comments, 'This is so smart I'm gonna do this for my room…Anyways I'll update in an hour.'

They later added, 'I finished late, but I still did it!'

Incorporating the 2-Hour Cleaning Method into Your Routine

While the 2-hour cleaning method may not be suitable for deep cleaning tasks, it's a great way to maintain a clean and tidy home regularly. Here are some tips to incorporate this method into your routine:

1. Prioritise: Start with the tasks that will make the biggest difference. This could be cleaning the kitchen, tidying the living room, or decluttering your workspace.

2. Stay Focused: Avoid distractions during your 2-hour cleaning spree. Put your phone on silent, turn off the TV, and concentrate on the task.

3. Use Efficient Tools: Invest in cleaning tools that make your job easier and faster. This could be a high-powered vacuum cleaner, microfiber cloths, or a steam mop.

4. Reward Yourself: Don't forget the reward! Whether it's a latte, a piece of chocolate, or a relaxing bath, treating yourself after a job well done can motivate you to keep your home clean.

In the sixties all the corner shops sold fancy little cakes with cream or lemon butter filling. Mothers bought one when they shopped, as their little treat for morning tea, and they sold out by lunchtime.

I don’t think 2hours would be enough time to even do a basic clean in most houses, may work in an apartment, flat, or small house. Anything bigger would take longer. Notice I said flat, don’t see that term used much now, in the beginning we had flats, now they are called apartments. guess that sounds posher, and probably means higher rent can be charged.

your assuming.
No, I’m not assuming anything; merely suggesting. The young woman who posted the video looks to be of child bearing age, and not an old bird like me. 😆 Back in the day, if my babies/kids were at home, there’s no way I could spend 2 hours of cleaning without interruptions.
PS, I hope you get some relief for your sore back Jest. They’re no fun and very limiting. 🌼

Think it would depend on what needs to be cleaned. Spent about 2-3hrs cleaning my son & D.I.L.'s house today. In that time I did the kids bathroom/shower & toilet plus floors, all the house walls within arms reach height, the 3 glass doors inside and out, swept the house, cleaned all the shelves on the display cabinet & wiped down ornaments and cleaned the front door + did a load of washing and hung it out. Love cleaning other people's homes, just not so much my own. I feel like I've accomplished something and get a feeling of satisfaction when I do it for someone else.
