Discover how unused veggies transform into delectable ice creams!

Have you ever fantasised about enjoying your favourite dessert without feeling a hint of guilt? Well, guess what? We have some exciting news for you! Now you can savour a scrumptious ice cream while reaping the nutritional benefits of vegetables.

It may sound unbelievable, but thanks to an incredible Australian company called Nutri-V, the future of desserts is looking brighter, healthier, and more sustainable than ever before.

Nutri-V is a company that's tackling the issue of food waste head-on. They have come up with a revolutionary method to transform ‘ugly’ vegetables, which are typically discarded due to their appearance, into a convenient powder.

In Australia alone, almost 20 per cent of fresh produce goes to waste before it reaches the market. Nutri-V's groundbreaking solution not only makes these vegetables more appealing but also significantly reduces food waste in the process.

Raquel Said, the CEO of Nutri-V, stated that many of these discarded vegetables are actually incredibly nutritious. By converting them into powder form, Nutri-V has unlocked a whole new realm of culinary possibilities.

Thanks to the efforts of Hort Innovation, a research and development corporation, a new culinary possibility has been unlocked: vegetable ice creams with a delightful range of flavours.

Now, Nutri-V, in collaboration with Hort Innovation, has introduced these innovative creations, including tantalising options such as pumpkin, gingerbread, cauliflower, and vanilla bean. According to Said, the vegetable-flavoured ice-creams taste delightful, with only a subtle hint of the veggie base.

'They've just been presented in the form of an ice cream to enjoy, so it's innovation at its finest,' she proudly stated.

With the same nutritional value as cooked vegetables, each scoop of ice cream contains half a serving of veggies, making it a delightful way to boost your vegetable intake.

The Nutri-V team is already looking into developing more vegetable-based products, such as vegetable-boosted plain flour and additional ice-cream flavours, using different waste products.

Said explains that the possible applications for the vegetable powder are endless, from adding flavour and nutrients to pasta sauce to incorporating them into scrambled eggs and so much more.

While Nutri-V doesn't aim to substitute fresh vegetables in our meals, its goal is to assist people in incorporating more veggies into their daily intake through enjoyable and delicious methods.

According to Brett Fifield, the CEO of Hort Innovation, nearly 96 per cent of the population fails to meet the recommended daily intake of five servings of vegetables. So, if we can enhance our health by indulging in ice cream, a universally beloved dessert, why not try it with Nutri-V?

I don't see much of an issue with this after all who hasn't had black beans or beetroot in brownies? BUT I question the nutritional value of these powders. Colour or flavour substitutes is a no brainer, but replacing a serve of actual vegetables, I'll reserve judgement.

Where is it sold ? Could be very popular with parents who have kids that wont eat their veggies
I bet they won't be cheap. There have been powdered vegs for years - look in places like Chemist Warehouse or health food shops and they have had powdered greens for some years. They are not very nice, overly sweetened but claim to have nutritional value. I remain skeptical even of this Australian company's claims vis a vis nutritional value of their powder.
