Located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, 'Mykonos' is a sight to behold, featuring opulent grand turret rooms, inviting day beds scattered across the property, and not one, not two, but THREE outdoor entertainment areas. And did we mention the elevated luxury heated pool, complete with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue on the rooftop deck?

Daniel Finch, Stayz travel expert, expressed to reporters just how perfect 'Mykonos' is for accommodating a large group of up to eight people, with an average price of $1,157 a night. 'The home is ideal for a large group getaway or a fun-filled family staycation', he said. So, why not treat yourself and your loved ones to a Europe trip without having to foot the bill for expensive flights?

If you're curious about the judging criteria for these awards, Stayz based its selection on properties with star reviews of 4.5 or more, positive guest reviews, and descriptions indicating suitability for family or group travellers.

Sounds like stiff competition, right? Well, the other medal-winning homes were certainly no slouches in comparison to the magnificent 'Mykonos'.

Taking silver is 'Sinclairs of Berry', a sprawling farm estate in Berry, nestled in the Shoalhaven region on New South Wales' south coast. It's hard not to be smitten with its expansive 8000 sq m property, overlooking Broughton Mill Creek, and with the capacity to comfortably house up to 18 guests. Boasting an open-plan kitchen and large dining area, it's a perfect location to get the entire family together for a reunion or birthday celebration.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal goes to 'Birdwood Estate', a nostalgic federation home in Wilyabrup, situated in the picturesque Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. With its old-world charm and luxurious amenities, this beautiful estate features a grand turret room of its own, evoking the charm of castle living.

Travelling with a Group or Multi-Generational Family? Here’s What You Need to Know

Organising a group or multi-generational family getaway is an exciting and rewarding experience. If you’re planning an upcoming adventure for your family, there are a few tips that you’ll want to keep in mind:

  1. Start by deciding on the purpose of the trip: Are you all going to plan a beach holiday? Tour historical sites? Go on a camping adventure? Doing a bit of research and planning ahead of time will help make sure that everyone’s wishes are taken into account.
  2. Be mindful of any physical limitations: Make sure that you identify age-or disability-appropriate activities, accommodations, and attractions that everyone will be able to enjoy. If you’re travelling with an elderly family member, for example, inquire about any special amenities or services that a particular destination may offer.
  3. Organise when you pack: Make a list of every family member’s necessities and have everyone help check off items as they’re packed.
  4. Stagger your budget a bit: Everyone’s financial situation is different, and some family members may be better able to afford certain activities than others. If that’s true for your family, talk to everyone in advance and try to break up the costs of bigger or pricier outings.
