Discount 50c pizzas sold as Coles clears out two brands from shelves
Do you love pizza?
If you have your favourite and get it at Coles, we have some unfortunate news: the retailer has discontinued stocking some frozen pizzas from two brands.
Coles has discounted frozen items from the two well-liked brands to a mere 50c in a significant clearance sale.
McCain's pepperoni pizza and cheesy vegemite pizza pockets, previously priced at $8.50, will disappear once the existing stock is sold.
Likewise, various Street Pizza products such as the margherita, supreme, and BBQ meat-lovers pizzas, earlier at $10.50, are also being phased out.
Street Pizza's bacon and egg calzones are also available for just 50c, while supplies last.
‘We are constantly reviewing our range and the market, looking for new and exciting products that will surprise and delight our customers,’ a Coles spokesperson told FEMAIL.
‘Our customers can… rest assured we still have some great frozen pizza options available for them to choose from.’
A shopper from Sydney posted a photo of the discounted frozen items at their nearby Coles, highlighting the significant price cuts.
Many customers expressed their disappointment, noting their fondness for these affordable products.
‘The vegemite ones are surprisingly yummy, sad they're all gone!’ one wrote.
‘Oh no! The thin and crispy ones are the only frozen pizzas I like,’ another said.
‘I'm quite sad about this–my daughter really loves the McCain pizzas!' a mum wrote. Will have to find a replacement.’
Some, however, weren't particularly saddened by their phase-out.
‘It looks like all the crap stuff they can't sell because no one wants it,’ a woman shared.
‘I'm not surprised. The Street Pizza line is not worth buying,’ another shopper pointed out.
‘Thank god, those products are disgusting,' a reviewer said. 'There's too much sugar pumped into it.’
Luckily, supermarkets like Coles come up with interesting products Aussies can try every now and then.
Last August, Coles introduced a frozen food range inspired by popular Netflix shows like Stranger Things and Squid Game.
The range includes ‘Scoops Ahoy ice cream flavours’ from Stranger Things, ‘Hellfire Club Spicy Wing Nibbles’ inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, ‘Surfer Boy Pizza’ in various flavours, and ‘BBQ Chicken Nuggets’ shaped like Squid Game symbols.
