Aside from being a professional dietitian and nutritionist, Susie Burrell is also a mum to her twin boys, Gus and Harry. That is why she knows how important it is to choose the healthiest food options while shopping.

In one of her most recent posts on Instagram, she shared with her followers a haul of her recommended healthy food finds in one of the most budget-friendly supermarkets in the country – ALDI!

Urban Eats Chinese-style Pork Dumplings

Her first top pick is the brand's own pork dumplings, which come in a freezer-safe plastic bag. She claims that these pork dumplings have an incredible flavour, and she also says that they have minimal fat content.

They don't have any MSG either! MSG, or Monosodium glutamate, is a known flavour enhancer that can be harmful in excessive amounts.

FIT Lemon and Pepper Chicken Meal

With a variety of low-carb options available for Aussies seeking to monitor their weight, the FIT series of frozen meals—which cost Susie $6 each—were a huge hit. The Lemon and Pepper Chicken variant is the second one added to her grocery list.



Ocean Royale Mussels in Tomato and Garlic Sauce

The mussels in tomato and garlic sauce are another one of Susie's favourites, and the main reason for this is that a pack of them only costs $3.99. What a bargain!

Portview Tuna & Beans and Tuna Ready Meal

Susie also said that ALDI's ready-made tuna meals, which cost between $2 and $3 depending on the flavour, are good healthy options in the supermarket. The protein content of these meals is really high, and they are very simple to put together. Perfect for busy folks!

Moser Roth Finest Dark Mint

Last but not least, Susie's choice for a low-calorie dessert is a bar of dark mint chocolate that comes in convenient serving-sized packs.

The mum claims that they only have 140 calories each, and they taste absolutely divine. Win-win!

Mmm, beetroot instead of red capsicum…lol, doesn’t quite cut it in a stir fry! Zucchini replacement carrots, hardly similar. Also, low fat is not necessarily healthy, watch out for the added sugar, that’s the demon in hiding! Forget calories, concentrate on whole unprocessed natural foods if you want to be healthy !!
