Did you know there's a secret room hiding in every Woolworths supermarket? Here's what it's for

You may not know it, but your local supermarket is full of secrets. From the way the products are arranged on the shelves to the time of day that the store is busiest, there are many behind-the-scenes secrets that only supermarket employees know.

We previously covered how one door, which was dubbed as an 'entrance for giants', has baffled one Woolworths shopper.

Now, we want to share with you this one 'easy-to-miss' discovery by an eagle-eyed shopper about a seemingly unsuspecting space at their local Woolies.

Sharing the 'shocking' discovery on TikTok, the customer uploaded a video that shows how one aisle's end featured a secret space concealed beneath a gift card display.

'The sneaky buggers at Woolies,' the shopper wrote in the caption of the video, describing the hidden area as a 'trick'.

In the clip, a Woolies employee can be seen entering and closing the door to the obscure area.

The worker also fastened a latch at the top to prevent anyone else from opening the door.

Many social media users pointed out that with boxes and folders lining the shelves in the area, the space appears to be a secret room that is used for storage.

One user wrote: 'How is this sneaky? It has nothing to do with customers, it is literally for storage.'

'What about this is sneaky? Coles gift card section is the same and we store extra stock there,' another questioned.

Others pointed out that almost every grocery store has this secret compartment.

One person said: 'Not that sneaky. Like, nearly every store has those.'

However, it still would be challenging to spot such a place if you were to move past the end of the aisle quickly.

The next time you're grocery shopping, take a look around and notice the store's layout.

The standard layout, such as the positioning of produce next to the front and meat and dairy towards the back, is easy to stop. This is no accident - grocery stores are designed this way to help ensure the quality of the food they sell and make you walk past everything for essentials.

Some people have vivid imaginations.

Wow! Do they also know we have whole large areas behind swinging doors that hold a multitude of freakin stock! We also have "secret" rooms called staff toilets and lunchrooms! FFS get a life...or maybe a job at Woolies...then you can check out all these "shockingly secret" rooms yourselves!

Our local has a mystery room . Seen people go in with nothing and they come out with a big trolley of pre packed groceries. They then disappear through another door and hey pesto they are outside putting these goods into other people's back of cars. So magical.

What’s the big deal? So the display has a hidden door! I mean it’s not a time machine or Tardis where Doctor Who pops in and out, it’s used for storage. Anyhow it’s not a secret room, seeing the employee opened it in front of you.
