We lived on a farm with chooks... At 2 I would say, “Here Took, Took, Took” when feeding them, and the name stuck😁”Took” was my nickname🐔

As a Littlee I was dubbed Cherry Pie by my doting Dad - 'cos I was such a little sweetie!! My little friend next door was "Droopy Drawers" for rather obvious reasons!

Did you have a special nickname given to you by your loved ones?

Helloooo, dear members. For this week's get-to-know-each-other session, I'd love to know if you had a special nickname given to you by your loved ones! Something witty, funny or maybe even a bit embarrassing? Don’t lie—we all had one!

My nan used to cheekily call me 'little Britney'... Not because I looked anything like the pop princess, Britney Spears (oh, I could only wish), but because 2-year-old me would immediately get up on my feet and dance when they play any of her songs. She still happily recounts those memories to this day when I invite new friends over to embarrass me! But you know what, it just goes to show how much she loves me. ;)

My nickname was given to me by my play mates, they called me Ding, I can remember when I was about 10 my mother answered the door and one of my play mates said his Ding coming out to play and I can still hear my mother sternly saying his name is Dennis, what fun we had in those days when we created our own games and weather permitting spent as much time in the fresh air as we could.

My Doctor as a child and teenager was a female who had also delivered me.
She was our family doctor from before I was born and I was actually name after her Suzanne but she used to always call me Foofy even as a teenager.

She retired and I never got to see her again.

I was originally called Little Johnny Pink as a child then known as Johnny Pink for a long while, then Johnno, then because my first names lionel people called me that, so often I tried it on, but it wasn't me... Now I'm back to me Johnny Pink.

Hilariously I discovered about a year back while figuring the time will come again where I'll need to lionise myself in public, that when I wrote lionel pink lionel Pink consecutively that a pink Lion appears in my name ... how cool is that.
So are you known as your middle name ? I know alot of people who are known by their middle name.

Great story

As a very little girl our next door neighbour used to call me Splodger. I never understood why and was incensed. Used to say to the Lady of the House: “Mrs Issy will you tell that Bob Allen to not call me Splodger!”
Then as a teenager I decided that to abbreviate Susan to Sue, when it does not contain an ‘e’ , was dumb...so my Su has no ‘e’. And I have had to explain that for the rest of my 78 years....🥴
Great story . When I was young I always got Sue at school and Suzy at home never my full name Suzanne until I started work , guess it sounded more professional

My Dad used to call me Wooda apparently short for Woodhead.🤭 Now,there is a story behind it and it apparently goes like this. My Dad was nursing me one day on his shoulder when I was a baby and there was a storm brewing with thunder and lightning and when a crack of lightning lit up the sky,I got startled and my head hit my Dad's face and apparently bruised him, hence the name Woodhead aka Wooda!🙄😆

I was nicknamed Malinks by my older siblings. It comes from the song we used to sing while skipping “Skinny Malinks Melodian Legs, Big Banana Feet” I did have long skinny legs and big feet for my size back then. These days my grandson looks at me with a puzzled look on his face when I occasionally use the phrase 🤔

Simple bit of maths and we now all know your age. 😉 @Sethia Soliman
I accrued several nicknames as a very young child. The first, as a toddler. I had a favourite toy which over time broke several times. My Mother would say "Daddy will fix it. Wait till he comes home." My response was "till he comes home". After a time Dad christened me TillHe (usually written Tilley).
My second famous nickname derived from my aversion to wearing shoes. Thus Gertie Gravel Toes (after the country cousin of Dick Tracey in the comic strip). eventually it shortened to Gertie. Both survive to this day and I respond instantly on hearing either name.
