In Australia, turkey bacon is a bacon alternative, usually made from ethically farmed, free-range turkey thigh fillets, and is often wood-smoked and honey-cured for a flavourful, less fatty option than pork bacon.

It can be found in Coles, Woolworths, and others from what I’ve read online.

Thanks DLHM, I had wondered if that was the case. We eat bacon occasionally, and as much as I love turkey, I don’t think I’ll be searching for turkey bacon. I’m trying to imagine Veggiepatch sitting up to turkey bacon, but then he might just surprise me.

It is a pork bacon alternative for those who have pork allergies or for cultural/ religous reasons for not eating pork products. Very delicous and available in a lot of supermarkets..

Dear member PattiB, thankyou for your post. Turkey bacon is basically turkey meat that has been smoked and seasoned, then slicd up to resemble bacon slices. Have a great week.

I think I will bypass the Turkey Bacon and just stick to “ Bacon “
