Dennis' Pun Of The Day

How did the skunk phone his mother?

On a smellular phone.
Once again an American-sourced joke. In Australia, we don't use the terminology "cellular phone" or "cell phone" (for short) but rather "mobile phone". In Europe, "GSM" is used (Global System for Mobile Communications). No wonder it's really not that funny in Oz.

I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to display the usual anti-American sentiment in an inappropriate forum. People come here for a laugh, not to be subjected to pettiness. It's just a joke! And since the Americans invented the cellular phone, I guess they are entitled to call it that. It begs the question, if the invention was originally named "cellular phone", why did we change the name and call it a mobile phone?

- This post does NOT AT ALL display any anti-American sentiment of any kind, either usual or otherwise.

- "Stating" that the Americans "rightfully" call it a "cell phone" has nothing prejudicial, it's just stating a fact. And "stating" that the Australians call it a "mobile phone" and that the Europeans call it a "GSM" doesn't have any anti-Australian or anti-European sentiment either.

- Why always see negativity where there absolutely is none?
