Dad slammed for STORMING OUT of his baby's gender reveal party: "His reaction was alarming"

Gender reveal parties have been growing in popularity in the past few years among expecting Aussie parents.

If you're not familiar with the concept, gender reveal parties are held in the early-to-mid period of the second trimester of a woman’s pregnancy. The parents-to-be invite their families and friends to a small gathering where they announce and celebrate the gender of their unborn child.

It’s somewhat similar to the traditional baby shower, but the highlight of the event is to surprise the expecting parents and the audience with a "reveal" that is often done through colours: pink for a girl, and blue for a boy.

Some parents reveal their child's gender by eating a cake filled with blue or pink frosting, while some might choose to surprise themselves by opening a box full of either blue or pink balloons.

There are hundreds of gender reveal options out there for expecting parents, and the party is said to be a very special moment for everyone involved.

However, it seems that these gender reveal parties are not always as joyful as people make them out to be.

Recently, a soon-to-be father-of-three was slammed by users online for his "alarming" reaction upon learning the gender of his third child.

In a TikTok video that was uploaded on the platform last week, a family can be seen preparing to welcome the fifth member of their growing family.

Expectant mum KC Fulton was joined by her husband and their two daughters, aged three and one, in their yard for a small gender reveal party. She was holding a black umbrella filled with coloured confetti that would reveal whether their child is a boy or a girl.

When she finally lifted the umbrella and opened it, KC and her daughters were ecstatic to see pink confetti rain down on them, which indicated that they would be welcoming another girl into the family.

However, her husband was less than impressed. In fact, he actually looked disappointed and bitter over the fact he wasn’t getting a son. The man slowly stormed out of the frame, repeatedly yelling profanities within his family's earshot.

"I swear he's happy," KC wrote in the caption of the now-viral video, where she was seen simply laughing off her husband's reaction.

The gender reveal video has gone extremely viral on both TikTok and Twitter, where it was reshared by thousands of dismayed users online.

Needless to say, people on the internet found the whole thing to be seriously uncomfortable and they were quick to call the man out on his problematic reaction.

Several users called the husband's reaction "alarming", saying that he should be ashamed for reacting that way.

"That video was PAINFUL to watch," one user wrote. "I cannot imagine having a father that was disappointed in me before I was born."

"Grown man throwing a tantrum like that…" said another. "He's acting like a two-year-old."

The outrage has spread to other social media sites, where one user asked: "What do you think it’s communicating to the other little girls when their dad reacts like this?"

"It communicates to me that the world is lucky this Dad is not going to be raising a boy who will end up like him," they continued.

One woman pointed out that the husband's reaction should concern the mum as well, seeing that it could be a "major red flag".

But KC later defended her husband by posting a follow-up video on TikTok, showing the man smiling and playing with his two daughters. "He loves ALL of his girls and they love him," she wrote. "He has loved his babies since the second he found out we were having them! He IS a good dad," followed by the hashtags #proudgirldad #daddysgirls.

What do you think about this, folks?

Were the people on the internet reasonable for calling out this man for his behaviour? Or do you think he didn’t deserve the backlash he received?

It is the male's contribution that determines gender. Who is he mad at?
