Curiosity Show

Brought back a lot of memories when I saw this article in today's Newsletter. Back in 1986, when I was in the middle of my archery career, the team from Channel 9 saw me practicing at my club, the Adelaide Archery Club. They asked if they could do some video of me shooting. It took about 3.5 hours and I was exhausted when they finished.
The total video went for 14 minutes which included all the clips that they later edited into a 1 minute segment for the Curiosity Show. It went all around Australia and then overseas.
I uploaded it to Youtube, click on the link..unfortunately it converted it to wide screen mode.

I loved this show... Not sure if there is a modern equivalent, though I guess there would be a lot of niche science type shows on youtube these days.

Can't believe you were on an episode Ron, that is super cool!

I did indeed! Noticed the initials on the fletching of the arrows :)

Very impressive to watch, especially as someone who has only done archery a few times using a non-compound bow.

I have used all types Jon...compound, my first love, recurve, longbow and cross bow. I was invited to join the training squad for the 1984 Olympics but didn't want to take up the recurve seriously. Also, too busy at work to take the time off required. I shot longbow in a medieval archery group I helped to form in the early 90s, we did all the medieval fairs around Adelaide and country areas and even had an invitation to go to Canada. We were the only medieval group shooting longbows with wooden arrows and feathers, We also dressed in medieval costume.Image69.jpg
