One mum shared on Facebook how she transformed an old mid-century vanity cabinet into a false fireplace for her holiday display.

The stunning centre-piece was created for last year’s Christmas but remained the DIY mum's favourite.

“Picked up the old cupboard at the tip and turned it into a pretend fireplace; just need some logs,” said the mum in her Facebook post.

She removed the Queen Anne-styled legs from the old cabinet and proceeded to paint it white.

She also removed the drawer and doors at the centre to give space for the ‘fire’. She left the side doors untouched.

Once the paint had dried, she decorated the ‘fireplace’ with white Christmas stockings, Scandinavian-style trees, and reindeer ornaments.

The finished masterpiece complimented the young mum’s Christmas tree covered with fake snow and white baubles.

The post resonated with fellow members of the Facebook group.

“This is very clever, well done, I love it,” wrote a fellow mum.

“It is absolutely brilliant,” commented another user.
