Cracker Night!

Building a massive bonfire with all the other children in the street at the nearest Park. Saving your money & buying as many thunders, pennies, tom thumbs, 12 ball shooters, sky rockets, etc you could afford. Roaming the streets on your Malvern Star Dragster Bike & letting all your stash of on Cracker Night. The sweet smell of gunpowder & smoke in the air. Then getting up early the next day & collecting all the duds that did not go off the night before , with the short wicks.

Remember our crazy school bus driver, driving us home from school , lighting thunders & throwing them out the window, the Friday before cracker night on the old style bus's where we used to fight to sit in the front compartment opposite the driver. The throw downs would always come on sale first to signify Cracker Night was on its way. Throwing them at every ones feet at school was a must.

We had it so good!

What lovely memories! ❤️❤️

It was fantastic. Rockets and those strings of tiny crackers which went off in a row. What were those ones called that went off in a huge circle, spraying out a shower of sparks.
What a night it was. But then of course, there would at least one kid blinded by a cracker flying in their face or going off too soon. Goodbye Guy Fawkes Night.

We used to have a massive bonfire at my uncles farm with all of the cousins, many a fun time spent, thanks for bringing this memory back
