Country music singer (91) and socialite (84) pass away, leaving legacies of creativity and influence

The Australian country music scene bids farewell to the legendary 'Sheik of Scrubby Creek,' who passed away at 91. His distinctive blend of humour and heartfelt storytelling endeared him to generations, leaving a lasting legacy that will resonate for years.

At the same time, the realms of high society and pop culture mourn the loss of the enigmatic figure famously known as 'Catwoman.' Renowned for her feline-like appearance, shaped by extensive plastic surgeries, she captivated and intrigued the public until her passing at 84.

Though vastly different, both lives leave enduring legacies that will continue to inspire and fascinate.

Born on 11 February 1933 in Wondai, Queensland, Chad Morgan grew up in the South Burnett Region.

His career, which spanned over seven decades, was a testament to his enduring appeal and love for his craft.

Morgan's website now carries a poignant message confirming his passing.

‘It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chad Morgan, our beloved Australian country music legend,’ the statement wrote.

‘Chad’s unmistakable voice and larger-than-life personality will leave an indelible mark on the Australian country music community, and his warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.’

‘His signature sound, blending traditional country with a sense of fun and authenticity, made him a cherished figure in the hearts of country music fans of all ages.’

His death was also announced on social media by fellow musician Kylie Hogan on behalf of Morgan's children, Chad Junior and Janelle.

‘He is now with his beloved wife Joanie,’ Hogan said.

Chad Morgan's contributions to Australian country music were profound.

With more than 20 albums to his name, he was a prolific artist who never lost his passion for storytelling through song.

His music was characterised by a distinctive style that combined traditional country sounds with a comedic twist, often drawing on his experiences.

His work earned him numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia, where he was the first honour recipient.

He was also inducted into the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame’s Roll of Renown in 1987 and received several other prestigious awards throughout his career.

In 2017, a bronze bust was unveiled in his honour in Tamworth, and in August of the previous year, a permanent exhibition opened in Childers, Queensland, near his Scrubby Creek.

The exhibit, free to enter, showcases a range of artwork and photography celebrating Morgan's music and career, including a privately commissioned statue and council-funded mural.

In his later years, Morgan continued to connect with his fans, releasing a book in 2022 that detailed his remarkable seven-decade career.

The book, available for purchase through his website, offers an intimate look at the life of a man who was not only a country music star but also a cherished figure in the Australian entertainment landscape.

As we bid farewell to Chad Morgan, we remember the music he made and the joy he brought to so many.

His songs, infused with wit and charm, captured the essence of country life and the human experience in a way few others have.

While Chad Morgan's life was defined by his timeless music, Jocelyn Wildenstein's was marked by a dramatic transformation that captivated widespread attention.

Born in Switzerland, she became a global socialite, entering the public eye through her marriage to billionaire art dealer Alec N. Wildenstein.

Her fiancé, Lloyd Klein, confirmed her death, stating that she passed away from a pulmonary embolism in a Parisian palace.

The couple eloped in Las Vegas in 1978, and their union was marked by a lavish lifestyle that included private jets, exotic safaris, and an extensive art collection.

However, their tumultuous divorce in 1999 catapulted Jocelyn into the media spotlight, leaving her with a billionaire status and a growing fascination with her appearance.

She began undergoing extensive facial plastic surgery, reportedly in an attempt to please her husband by resembling exotic wild cats.

Despite the widespread speculation and hints about her surgeries, Jocelyn maintained that she had never had any work done and that her striking features were natural.

In a 1998 interview with Vanity Fair, Jocelyn alluded to her unique look, saying, 'The lynx has perfect eyes,' suggesting that her cat-like eyes and high cheekbones were familial traits.

‘If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes—cat eyes—and high cheekbones.’ she added.

Her ex-husband, Alec, however, claimed that they both had eye lifts, and it was after this that Jocelyn continued to transform her appearance through surgery.

The fascination with Jocelyn's appearance was such that friends remarked on her constant state of recovery from various procedures.

In a rare glimpse into her past, Jocelyn shared a throwback photo on Instagram revealing her original face, starkly contrasting the look that made her famous.

Jocelyn's life after her high-profile divorce was fraught with financial and personal challenges.

Following the death of Alec Sr. in 2008, she claimed to have been ostracised by her ex-husband's family and eventually filed for bankruptcy.

Despite the controversies and the public's divided opinions on her choices, Jocelyn Wildenstein's impact on the conversation around beauty standards and plastic surgery remains undeniable.

Her life story is a testament to the lengths to which some will go to achieve their vision of beauty and the complex relationship between wealth, fame, and identity.

Her passing marks the end of an era, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to be discussed and dissected for years to come.

@DLHM and myself were only discussing Chad Morgan last week. That's about four entertainers, musicians or actors I've mentioned in the last month or so that have died soon after. Can I do the same for Donald Trump?

How many know CHAD insured his teeth for a large amount as it was trade mark and his way of income. By the way Scrubby Creek is off the Bruce Highway north of Howard where his family lived.

Not nice at all, there Veggie.
Who on earth in the U.S.A. would you consider to be president ?
I reckon that you'd be a supporter to "Giggle Pot Harris".
I suppose you know that she said that she'll have another go in the next elections in '28.
One could only hope that her ultra stupidity will worsen for the sake of America & that she'll be incarcerated into a mental asylum by then.

NOVEZAR.

Vladonald Trumputin. The narcissistic, megalomaniacal, proponent of "dog and cat eating immigrants", not to mention a criminal on so many levels.

He couldn't lead a horse to water, let alone the "free world"1

Hulk Hogan.

Like most recent American presidents, he is an actor in more ways than one. The US President is nothing more than a purposeless figurehead and a puppet of the CIA and NSA.
