Utilities
The energy concession extension scheme is an annual payment to assist with electricity costs for holders of a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card or Veterans’ Gold Card. To be eligible, you must reside in the home and cannot be directly billed by Synergy or Horizon Power. The payment amount is $318.37.

Rates
The pensioners and seniors rebate scheme provides a rebate or deferment of charges to eligible pensioners and seniors. Concessions apply to local government rates charges, the emergency services levy, underground electricity charges (if applicable) and water service charges.
To receive a concession on local government rates, the applicant must own and occupy the property as their ordinary place of residence on 1 July of the current financial year.

Motor vehicle registration
There are currently no registration discounts available, however, you may be eligible for a reduction in Driver’s Licence fees.
Driver's Licence - Fee exemption or reduction
100% exemption for holders of a Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) or a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Pensioner Concession Card where the holder is receiving a service pension and is of Pension age, for holders of Veterans' Affairs EDA or TPI Gold Cards and for holders of both a WA Seniors Card and a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.
A 50% concession for all other holders of a DVA Pensioner Concession Card, and for holders of a WA Seniors Card.
How to Apply
Application forms are available from the Department of Transport Customer Contact Centre by calling 13 11 56 or by downloading a copy from their website.
Eligible concession card holders can either make application by attending a Driver and Vehicle Service Centre or post their completed application form to:

Transport concessions for Western Australia Seniors Card holders:
Pensioner Concession card holders can receive two single journeys or one return journey per year on Transwa rail or road coach services.
DVA Veteran Gold Card holders can receive four single journeys or two return journeys.
Seniors who do not have a Pensioner Concession card are still eligible for a 50% discount on their fares.

To be eligible for the scheme, you must have continuously lived north of the 26th parallel for the last two years and hold a Pensioner Concession Card from the Department of Human Services (DHS)/Centrelink or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
If you hold a WA Seniors Card and are not in receipt of a Commonwealth-issued Pensioner Concession Card, you are not entitled to free travel under this scheme.

Courtesy Bus
Many RSLs offer a free courtesy bus that will collect you from your home. Speak to your local RSL for more information.

Australia Post
Australia Post offers a 40% discount on postage stamps, discounts on redirecting mail and free document certification for eligible concession card holders.
You can apply if you hold any of the following Australian Federal Government concession cards:
Telstra
Telstra offers a number of concessions to Pensioner Concession Card holders, including a discount on a new telephone service connection fee and a reduction in your home line plan costs. For more information, contact Telstra at 1800 676 442 or visit their website.
Dental Services
The Government Subsidised Oral Health Care Scheme provides Pensioner Concession Card holders with subsidised dental treatment. This treatment can be received at a Public Dental Clinic or at participating Private Dental Clinics. DVA Gold Card holders may be eligible for care at public dental clinics only in certain remote locations. For more information, contact the Dental Health Services Administration at (08) 9313 0555 or visit the Western Australian Dental Health Services website.
WA Spectacle Subsidy Scheme
Pensioner Concession Card holders who do not hold either a Gold Card or a Veteran White Card, which entitles them to receive treatment at the DVA’s expense for eye disabilities, can receive a subsidy of up to $54.34 (as of 1 July 2019) for spectacles once every two years. St John Ambulance Services

Holders of the WA Seniors Card and the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
- The rebate is up to 50% for rates, limited to a maximum (capped) amount of $750.
- The option to defer rates may be available if the required criteria is met.
Holders of the WA Seniors Card only
- The rebate is up to 25% for rates, limited to a maximum (capped) amount of $100.
- There is no option to defer rates.

- Fare discounts of up to 60% on standard fares for Transperth bus, train and ferry services, including those operating in regional towns.
- With your Seniors SmartRider you will be able to travel for free at the following times:
- From the first service until 6am
- From 9am until 3.30pm
- From 7pm until the last service
- All day Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
- Concession fares at other times
- 50% discount on regional point-to-point travel with SmartRider (also available for interstate Seniors Card holders).

If you are a pensioner who lives north of the 26th parallel, you are entitled to one return journey by air or coach per year to Perth or elsewhere in the South West Land Division (provided the fare is not greater than that to Perth).To be eligible for the scheme, you must have continuously lived north of the 26th parallel for the last two years and hold a Pensioner Concession Card from the Department of Human Services (DHS)/Centrelink or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
If you hold a WA Seniors Card and are not in receipt of a Commonwealth-issued Pensioner Concession Card, you are not entitled to free travel under this scheme.
