Recently, Coles and Woolworths shoppers called out the supermarket giants after they noticed discrepancies with some of their products.

One Coles shopper took to Facebook to share a sight guaranteed to make any customer do a double take: a box of Olina’s Bakehouse brand gluten-free Artisan Crackers on a two-box sale… for $100!

Healthier food options sometimes cost more, but this one takes things to another level!

‘I know they're gluten-free but these must be the most expensive crackers. Not much of a special offer,’ the shopper said in her post.

For those asking, the actual promo for the crackers was $8 for two boxes. Quite a leap, eh?

News eventually reached Coles, and they admitted that the unfortunate price was just a printing error.

A spokesperson added: ‘Customers can get great value in the Olina's Bakehouse Gluten-Free range this week, with a two for $8 special in stores nationally until 15 November.’

Another shopper, this time from Woolworths, also took to Facebook where they shared their shocking find in Woolies’ Christmas decorations: a $64 price tag on a pack of eight ornaments!

‘If you're wondering why your Chrissy decorations aren't selling at your … store, this might be why,’ they captioned the post.

Other ornaments costing $48 and $32 were also visible.

Woolworths for their part said the prices of the ornaments were the result of wrong tickets being printed for the tags, and that they were displaying amounts for full packs and not individual ornaments.

A spokesperson said: ‘We're all about giving value this Christmas and this is simply a ticketing error on the shelf price. And a customer would be charged the correct (and much lower price) when they went to the checkout.’

They have also reached out to the store where the shopper found the pricing error to correct the prices.

Everyone makes mistakes but surely the people who are putting up these price tags must question the validity of the amounts???

one reason I DO like self check outs for: it s easier to check the price of each piece while I m putting them through. For example yesterday: I needed a white top, saw one on special at kmart, looked at the tag: great, cheap special! took t o check out: full price came up! called the helper over, he tried to scan, same: full price! so he cancelled and put the reduced price in by hand! I paid, tapped "yes, I want a receipt ".... nothing. so I had to call him over again...

I have done ticketing at a supermarket and it is not an easy job. There are thousands of tickets to replace each week. Sometimes is gets noticed but when you are doing them at 6am and the store opens at 7am the need for speed outweighs the reading of the tickets. That being said, I am slightly OCD so would probably have noticed. Lots of employees just want to get the job done.

If an item scans at a higher price than the advertised price you are entitled to it for free. Keep that in mind if UT happens again.
