Coles Shoppers Amazed: Hidden Compartment Secret Revealed - Find Out Where It Is!

As we navigate the aisles of our local Coles, we often think we know every nook and cranny of our beloved supermarket. But every now and then, a revelation comes along that makes us question everything we thought we knew about our routine shopping experience. This time, it's a hidden compartment that has Coles shoppers across Australia buzzing with surprise and curiosity.

'Why has no one told me this before?' is the question on many lips after a recent social media post went viral, unveiling a 'secret' compartment that many shoppers had walked past countless times without a second glance.

The discovery was shared by a Coles customer on TikTok, who expressed her gratitude to a helpful Coles employee for the enlightening tip. 'Thank you nice Coles worker for enlightening me,' she captioned her video, which quickly captured the attention of the online community.

In the brief, nine-second clip, the shopper revealed the compartment that had been hiding in plain sight. The video sparked a wave of comments from equally astonished viewers. 'I showed my dad this a month or two ago after this lady showed me I couldn’t wait to show him he was astonished,' one person shared, echoing the sentiment of many who were eager to spread the word.

Even Coles employees joined the conversation, with one noting, 'I work at Coles and you be surprised how people are kinda not aware that it can open. like how are we supposed to put it through the little hole.' It seems that even those who spend their days in the store were aware of the compartment's obscurity.

Another shopper added some historical context to the conversation, explaining, 'They were actually made for easy pull for plastic bags but then they discontinued the plastic bags.' This tidbit of information highlights the compartment's original purpose, which has since become redundant with the phasing out of single-use plastic bags.

While this hidden feature has delighted many, it's not the only change Coles has introduced in recent times. In a move towards sustainability, Coles unveiled a plan to offer cardboard boxes for shoppers to use when collecting their fruit and vegetables. Matt Swindells, Coles’ chief operations and sustainability officer, praised the initiative, saying, 'The great thing about these boxes is that they fit easily in your trolley, and can be taken home and recycled, or left at store for someone else to use again. It also brings a local grocer feel to your shop while helping to create a more sustainable future.'

The response to the cardboard boxes has been mixed, with some shoppers embracing the eco-friendly option and others finding it cumbersome. 'I love this! It's giving Harris Farm (without the prices!) I'll definitely be using this to put my fruit and veg in, I always feel so bad when I use the plastic bags,' one customer commented. Meanwhile, another shopper preferred the convenience of paper bags, stating, 'I don't think I'll use them, I prefer using the paper bags because you can fill more in them.'

These developments at Coles are a reminder that supermarkets are constantly evolving, and sometimes, the changes can be as simple as discovering a hidden compartment or as significant as adopting new sustainable practices. It's a testament to the fact that there's always something new to learn, even in the most familiar of places.

the DIY's at my local coles isn't so fancy - no secret drawers here! Just the stand alone machines with a shelf one side while the weigh scale is the other side! Geez we don't even get a lot of space. The machines are cramped together and constantly play up plus they are slower than a tortoise.

Talking about Coles. Many older people prefer the smaller, lower shopping trolley. Coles for some reason has put the coin apparatus on the small trolleys but not the large trolleys. This is so inconvenient if you haven't got a coin. Why is Coles doing this? Us oldies find it difficult to trundle around with a large trolley.

So is the drawer supposedly full of free paper shopping bags to put your groceries in ? Doesn't every Coles shopper have enough of these at home....just bring your own paper bags when you use the self service....so simple.

I have never spent a cent on a bag.... I will be dammed if I will contribute towards an item that is of no use and make the thieving retailers more wealthy.
It is the biggest rort ever.
