Coles shoppers have a new reason to scan their Flybuys card—and it could save them big.
With household budgets tighter than ever, a surprise at checkout might make all the difference.
But not everyone will walk away a winner…
Coles launched a nationwide ‘Shop, Scan, Win’ campaign on 16 July 2025, giving customers the chance to score instant savings of up to $100.
The supermarket said the giveaway would run until 2 September and include more than $4 million in total prizes.
To be eligible, customers needed to spend at least $20 in a single transaction and scan their Flybuys card during checkout.

There were more than 30,000 winners expected each week, with prize values ranging from $5 to $100.
Coles’ chief customer and digital officer Michael Courtney said the goal was to ease pressure on households: ‘We’re excited to be giving away more than $4 million in cash prizes to surprise and delight customers and help them get extra value at the checkout, whether they choose to shop in-store or online.’
‘With household budgets tighter than ever, our “Shop, Scan, Win” giveaway is set to reward over 30,000 customers each week for simply doing their regular grocery shopping at Coles.’
Winners were notified instantly in-store and could use their prize on the spot or save it for a future shop.
Bonus entries were awarded to shoppers who purchased select participating products such as Cold Power, Fanta, Darrell Lea, Pantene, Dettol, Supercoat, Fairy, Carmen’s and YoPro.
Grocery spending had reached record highs in June, with Finder reporting an average weekly household spend of $233—up 27 per cent from $184 the same month the previous year.
Earlier this year, a Finder survey found four in five Australians were actively trying to reduce their grocery bills.
Tactics included cutting back on non-essentials, switching to cheaper brands and shopping at multiple stores to chase the best deals.
‘Grocery shopping is no longer a simple task you do each week—it’s become a strategic exercise in cost-cutting for many Australians,’ Finder personal finance expert Sarah Megginson said.
If you love the thrill of winning something extra just for doing your regular grocery shop, Coles has been on a roll lately with attention-grabbing giveaways.
One recent promo had shoppers buzzing even before it officially launched, thanks to a tempting new collectables offer.
It’s a different kind of reward, but just as exciting if you enjoy getting more value out of your weekly shop.
