I prefer self serve as I drop $15 coins into machine plus no repeatable . “How are you?”
Like you folks squeeled years ago when self serve fuel came in. find drive way service now!!!!!
someone in an earlier post said “complain to local member” 100% dumb . Good luck as this is private company and they can use self serve and no politician will step in.

I’m amazed people hate change. I am 65 and I own PS5 gaming console and play war games. I do video editing. I love my grandkids but tell them to use electronic where you can. I want progress not 1965 checkout staff. besides most can’t cant add up without a register. Give me a machine at the checkout not a human.
Wait till you get 75 and your brain lets go. But then it could be demonised allready?

I will not use, self check out ever. Have tried and always need to call for assistance as, machine goes, AWOL. I live on my own and sometimes I need human interaction and the staff at tills, are very friendly and at least I can chat if they are not busy. So I wouldn't shop where they have removed human contact. It would be bye bye for good.

Oh that one reminds of a power failure at a fast food place and the cash register not working and the young one behind counter had to do it the old way and pulls out a calculator and by the time he puts that through the hubby and I had already added the amount in our heads - so who did the old way????????????????
$10 easy peasy lol

I use crutches to balance and walk as I am waiting for a hip replacement. It is difficult enough to push a trolley and empty it at a manned checkout. I cannot use the self serve ones.

Had an occassion many moons ago where l bought 2 wire brushes @ $1.99 each. The young lad wrote down the correct figures but came up with $2.98 instead of $3.98. Guess there is a lot to be said for "us Oldies" & mental maths afterall?
