Coles Checkout

Here’s a glimpse of the Coles checkout area from the 1990s, when aisles were wide, plastic bags were free, and 'Now open 24 hours' signs were just starting to appear! You can even spot the early Eftpos and Visa banners hanging above — a big deal back then when most shoppers still paid with cash or cheque. Many of us remember the friendly checkout operators who knew the locals by name, the beeps of the old scanners, and those paper dockets that seemed to go on forever.

I was beside a male at the self-service checkout who scaned his groceries but didnt pay, the attendant called after him but he quickly got away, bring back the old system as this is happening to often.

Coles was only 45 years of my working life! Many memories from the 90's ❤️
